Hello all,
The fact that you are here probably means that I've just posted this, linked from my profile, or you are looking at my journal from the root URL.
This post is to make a few things clear after "mistakes" have been made and further considerations on my part as to what should be done about this journal of mine, along with whatever other web applications of similar nature.
1. I will lock my entries most of the time if I categorize them as work, school, rant, or any combination there of.
2. For the majority of the time, I will not lock entries regarding anime, doujinshi, sales, or any other topics not mentioned in the first statement.
3. If you are interested in keeping track of my life on the fandom front, feel free to add me to your friends list. However, this action might not be reciprocated. Please do not ask about this.
4. For those who know me personally and have known me for ages but have nothing to do with my obsessions, I will have to ask you to find me on FB instead. This is not the place meant for you for the sake of your well being and for the sake of mine.

I will be out of the country in June and will not be able to attend AE this year. I was hoping to check it out since it's at a much better venue but it's unfortunate. Will have to wait until the year after I guess.
And with so much going on in my life right now I am just not prepared to attend it anyway.

Some may have noticed I've been absent for quite some time. I've had a difficult month of January and am still in midst of recovering.

Though I haven't been online much outside of work, I'd like to wish everyone a merry Christmas. Thank you for your Christmas (and D.Gray + PoT) card ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) glowinglotus! I received it just at the right time ^^ I had intended to send out cards myself this year but ended up working myself to death (not quite death but I was quite ill for the past few days).
In any case, I hope everyone can enjoy the holidays! I'm definitely having a white Christmas here, maybe a little too white for my liking. I'm sure we've had something like 2 feet of snow by now. I'm physically trapped at home by it ^^;

I feel like I've disappeared from the online community. As a matter of fact, what happened to my old habits of "boiling" anime's and drama's? Some things I thought would stay with me forever in the past I feel like I've just dropped them all.
Anyway, that's not the point. Some time in the future I swear I will catch up with everyone.
Recently been downloading music (Rain, Jay Chou, JJ Lin). I haven't listened to Chinese stuff for such a long time. Out of curiosity I downloaded Jay Chou's newest album because it's got the name of my sun sign: Capricorn XD I can't say I'm all too impressed. I think I kind of grew out of his music quite a while ago. I mean... there were some decent songs but not as captivating as before. JJ Lin's Sixology on the other hand... I also haven't listened to his songs for a while but from what I remember of his songs, it seems like he changed styles, and changed for the better? There were some pretty good songs in there.
A coworker also sent me the top 30 songs from the Oricon charts for some week in October and I went to dig up some information about those too.
Yesterday was much fun. I had dinner with a couple of my coworkers who I call "family". It's a very dysfunctional family mind you. Anyways we were unfashionably late and didn't get ourselves out until 12:30 ^^; We also bumped into another coworker of ours who was at a birthday party (and I probably knew 1/2 the people at that other table). The world is a small place.
After lunch today I'll have to start working on my other "full time job". Yes, I know, it's a Sunday.

I had it on repeat for a whole day.
After such a long time of not listening to his songs (or anything Korean for that matter), it was almost refreshing to find that he released a new album 3 days ago.

I still feel like working 2 full time jobs but today I went to get my hair coloured. While sitting there with a magazine in my hand, I started reading about the cover story. It was about 2 stars in HK and about their relationship. I must have had a very interesting smile on my face when I read this as I related it to someone... Here's what I read:

I like... RARELY watch Japanese dramas. I'd say this is the second one I watched entirely. I saw an episode of it while in Japan. Actually I didn't know the drama's title at first but the whole robot thing made me think of Zettai Kareshi. Then I found out it actually was Zettai Kareshi ^^;
Anyway, I don't know their real names so I'll just use their character names. Soushi's character is completely different from the manga ^^; And Night was so stiff I didn't really like his character much (then again, he is a robot so there's not much we can do there). And the drama was okay throughout until the very end. I cried a bucket again ^^; At the end I appreciated Night's character that much more. He loosened up, wasn't robot like anymore and was really cute ^^/ To be honest, comparing the drama and the manga, I actually prefer the drama's story more.

I am so grateful to all those who helped me out with my photos on Sunday (directly or indirectly). Here's one picture that turned out particularly well... This was the hardest pose of the entire photo shoot. I'm glad it didn't show my face because I was in some pain there (or perhaps that would have been perfect for this shot anyway ^^;) It's only physically possible to do so many things in real life LOL. We had no wind indoors either XD Oh, but the one major thing I was lacking was that hot body of his ahahhaa.
This is the pose I tried to attempt.

The darn wig is REALLY messed up. I am going to wash it out, cut and re-style the darn thing before going to my next photo shoot... There was always hair in my face no matter how I posed.

| Thoughts of AE2008 |

In all honesty I am extremely tired! I didn't actually do much that pertained to the convention itself other than go through the artist alley and the vendor's area. I'm glad to have met felys_sho, kurot, pockynomiko and pockynomiko's friend (which I am so stupid for not having asked for her name) at the artist alley. There was also some other amazing artists there and I was really impressed in general.
The vendor's room this year was arranged very differently. In my opinion the layout's a lot better than what they had at SFU. sekitx2, seeing that line up on Saturday, you must have been busy as hell and making some good $ there. Thanks for showing me that sexy Gokudera folder... You knew I just couldn't resist it XD
EDIT: Oh, I got this comment quite often about my cosplay this year. Apparently I change my look so much from costume to costume that people found it hard to recognize me... XD

I'm speechless...
I was looking on the forums for clarification as to why AE could not be held at SFU and of course... could not grasp the full picture. You should see how many angry people there are (and for those out of town especially). I have no idea how it came to that. SFU gave their side of the story but as far as I see AE execs have yet to come up with a reasonable response. If the dates mentioned in SFU's explanations are indeed true then AE execs are indeed incompetent.
That aside people in the community are trying to help bring this thing together, suggesting venues and such. My 2 cents is that it'll be extremely difficult to find a suitable venue now that can meet all the requirements (not to say this is impossible). The execs just need to get the priorities straight. If I had to some say in this I would hold the con on the same date and at a possibly smaller venue. They'll have to cut some events or limit the amount of participants because of this and no doubt anger some people again. But the big picture is... the con is still a go right?
Some people have looked into UBC and it looks like there's a chance there. Personally I would prefer UBC over SFU any day XD SFU just isn't very pretty (or the parts I've been to).
I'm surprised I flipped through all those forum pages...
